Alan Lassiter, CADC, serves as a Substance Abuse Counselor in the Dual Diagnosis Track at Advanced Health and Education, where he works with individuals navigating both substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. His clinical approach emphasizes structure, accountability, and practical skill development to support long-term recovery.
Alan studied Psychology at Jersey City State College (now New Jersey City University) before pursuing specialized training in addiction counseling. He earned his Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential in the State of New Jersey and maintains active licensure.
Throughout his career, Alan has gained extensive experience across nonprofit and behavioral health treatment settings. He held multiple roles at Integrity House, one of New Jersey’s largest nonprofit substance use treatment providers, progressing from Facility Coordinator Supervisor to Counselor Intern and ultimately Program Manager. In these roles, he contributed to program operations, staff supervision, and direct client care within structured recovery environments.
He later served as a Behavioral Health Technician at Endeavor House North and as a Co-Occurring Specialist at Bridgeway Behavioral Health Services, a nonprofit organization providing integrated mental health and substance use treatment. Most recently, Alan held a leadership position as Associate Director at Veritas Recovery Center, further expanding his experience in program oversight and clinical coordination.
Within the dual diagnosis track at Advanced Health and Education, Alan works with individuals presenting complex clinical needs, integrating psychoeducation, relapse prevention strategies, and recovery-oriented interventions. His background across residential, outpatient, and nonprofit systems has provided him with a strong understanding of the structural and clinical components necessary to support sustainable recovery.
Alan is committed to helping clients develop resilience, personal responsibility, and the coping strategies needed to navigate both mental health challenges and substance use recovery with confidence and stability.
