Kaitlyn Ruitenberg, LCSW, is a Primary Therapist at Advanced Health and Education dedicated to helping individuals navigate substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges with compassion and authenticity. Her clinical work is rooted in a person-centered approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and evidence-based practices to support meaningful, lasting change.

Kaitlyn earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Monmouth University in 2022 after completing her undergraduate degree in Fine Art and Art History. Her creative background cultivated a deep appreciation for expression, perspective, and individuality—qualities that continue to influence her therapeutic style. Prior to transitioning into the behavioral health field, Kaitlyn worked in nonprofit and arts-based settings before deciding to return to school to pursue her passion for helping others in a more direct and impactful way.

During her graduate training, Kaitlyn interned at the Monmouth University Community Care Telehealth Clinic, where she provided outpatient services and developed a strong affinity for working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders. She later served as a Primary Therapist at Seacrest Recovery Center, gaining experience in addiction treatment and co-occurring mental health care before joining the team at Advanced Health and Education.

Kaitlyn’s clinical interests include substance and alcohol use disorders, relationship counseling, family dynamics, and recovery support. Drawing from both her professional training and lived experience in recovery, she brings empathy, relatability, and a strong belief in the possibility of transformation to her work. Kaitlyn strives to create a safe, collaborative environment where clients can explore challenges, build coping skills, and move toward greater balance and peace.
